Here are the players who walking the suspension tightrope in the Libertadores final

Previous bookings were wiped after the group stage so any player facing suspension will have needed to pick up three yellow cards from the Last 16 stage onward.

According to Article 171 in the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2018 rulebook, a player will face a one-match suspension if they pick up three yellow cards. This is a lower limit than seen in most domestic leagues but there was one saving grace: all bookings received in the group stage were wiped off. This means anybody looking at suspension has picked up two yellow cards since the Last 16 stage.

There are players on both sides who risk being suspended from the return leg of the final if they pick up a booking on Saturday.

Here are the names of the people walking the suspension tightrope:

  • River: Maidana, Pinola, Lucas Pratto, Rafael Borré, Pity Martínez, Enzo Pérez.
  • Boca: Nández, Pavón, Olaza, Pablo Pérez.
