Germán Cano becomes DIM's record goalscorer

He scored in the 1-1 draw against Palestino to match José Grecco's record but overtook him at the weekend in the Colombian league.

The Argentine striker, Germán Ezequiel Cano, has left his mark in history as his name will grace the record books of Deportivo Independiente Medellín. He scored the opener against Palestino in Phase 2 of the CONMEBOL Libertadores to edge closer to that feat.

With 92 goals in 153 matches, the 31-year-old Cano equalled the total of fellow Argentine José Vicente Grecco. Grecco achieved his 92 strikes in 166 matches.

Cano's cracker against Palestino, which ultimately didn't turn out to be the winner, clearly meant a lot to him on a personal level.

And since then, on the 9th February against Unión Magdalena, Germán scored goal number 93. He is now the outright goalscorer in DIM's history.
