Edson Puch: "Winning the Libertadores is a great dream. Why can't I win it here?"

The winger has signed a one-year deal with Universidad Católica and was presented to the media on Monday.

Edson Puch (32) was presented as the third new signing - after Juan Cornejo and Valber Huerta - at Universidad Católica ahead of the 2019 campaign. "It's the South American Champions League, so every player wants to play in it and win it. Winning the Libertadores is a great dream. Why can't I win it here? It's a huge task and I hope it goes well," he said on the upcoming CONMEBOL Libertadores tournament.

"I wasn't really involved (in the negotiations), it was my agent who was in control of that. But I told him that I wanted to play in the Copa Libertadores," the forward stated.

In regards to his short term goals, the former Querétaro man said: "As a player, I always have objectives. One objective is to play in the Copa América and return to the national team. And to be here in Chile I believe I have more opportunities, playing in continental tournaments. My decision is based on that a lot."
