CONMEBOL Libertadores suspended until at least May 5th.

CONMEBOL, concerned with the prevention of COVID-19, in front of the risk of expansion of the virus, and to safeguard the players, staff, delegations, referees, directors, press, and fans, have taken the decision to suspend all matches in the CONMEBOL Libertadores until at least May 5th.

As is public knowledge, we are up against a great challenge to world health that affects, among other things, the holding of sporting events like the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana
CONMEBOL is committed to the prevention of COVID-19. In order to aid with the planning of the clubs participating in our principal club tournaments, it has been decided to suspend all matches until at least May 5th.
We ask that clubs do their due diligence in fighting against the spread of the virus and follow all of the guidelines as suggested by the proper authorities. It is a moment of cooperation and responsibility for all of our communities and football cannot be oblivious to that.
CONMEBOL will continue to monitor the situation alongside the relevant authorities and will remain in contact with the South American footballing community during this difficult time.
