Cerro Porteño's transfer window: the arrivals and departures ahead of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2019

The club have already signed Juan Pablo Carrizo, Joaquín Larrivey and Julio Dos Santos.

Cerro Porteño are preparing their squad for the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2019. They are in Group E alongside Nacional, Zamora and one of the winners from Phase 3. 'El Ciclón' have already added three new faces to their squad ahead of next season: Julio Dos Santos, Joaquín Larrivey and Juan Pablo Carrizo.


Juan Pablo Carrizo

The 34-year-old Argentinian goalkeeper, who joins from Monterrey (Mexico), arrives at the club after a long career which included spells at River Plate, Lazio and Inter Milan amongst others. 

Joaquín Larrivey

The 34-year-old Argentinian striker has spent the last two seasons with JEF United in Japan. In Asia he's scored 32 goals in 76 matches and has vast experience of playing in Europe with Cagliari (Italy) as well as Rayo Vallecano and Celta Vigo (Spain).

Julio Dos Santos

One of the club's most popular stars is Julio Dos Santos. At the age of 35, this will be his third stint at Cerro after playing for them between 2001-2005 as well as 2009-2014. He's holds the record for the most appearances with the club (374 matches to date). He's previously played for Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg, Gremio and Vasco da Gama. 

Fernando Amorebieta

The Venezuelan joins the team after winning the CONMEBOL Sudamericana in 2017 with Independiente de Avellaneda.


Raúl Cáceres

The full back has left the club to join Brazilian side Vasco da Gama.
