The first of two CONMEBOL Libertadores finals will certainly live long in the memories of those who watched it. However in the calm which followed the storm we're beginning to see some of the consequences from that match too. Boca Juniors forward Cristian Pavón has suffered a small hamstring tear according to the club's official social media accounts.
Pavón was forced to abandon the pitch after just 27 minutes and these are the results from his medical tests. He was replaced by Darío Benedetto who would later score the goal to make it 2-1 to Boca just before half time.
It's the first serious blow to Boca's squad after none of their players who were walking the suspension tightrope picked up a booking in the first leg. Guillermo Barros Schelotto will have goalkeeper Esteban Andrada available again after he fractured his jaw in the quarter final match against Cruzeiro.
As for River, Marcelo Gallardo won't be able to call upon Rafael Santos Borré for the second leg. The striker was booked at La Bombonera and now must serve a one-match ban. However Leonardo Ponzio and Ignacio Scocco have both recovered from injuries which saw them miss the first Superclásico.
